Going into business should not be all about the money. Don’t get me wrong, it is extremely important. However, it should not be the single motivating factor in doing business. If you only focus on the money, then you will end up neglecting a lot of the more important tasks of running a business, such as your employees, customers, and most importantly your family. These three groups are what will determine the long-term success of your organization.

If you don’t treat your employees well, then they are not going to enjoy their job. If they don’t enjoy their job, then they will not buy into what they are doing for your organization. Without buy in there is mediocre performance, which results in a mediocre organization. Who wants that?

If you don’t treat your customers well, then they are going to tell their friends. These friends will tell their friends and pretty soon you have a websites and blogs telling the world how bad you are. Who wants that?

If you don’t treat your family well, then you have totally lost your support system. To be a successful entrepreneur it is essential to have a great support system to help you through the roller coaster ride they call a business. At the end of the day, your business cannot make meals, wash your clothes, take out the garbage, cut your lawn, etc. Your support system is EVERYTHING!
